10th annual Bark in the Park attracts fourlegged furry friends

first_imgLELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Leland showed love to our four-legged friends Saturday at the 10th annual Bark in the Park.This dog-centric event offers dog related resources to local residents. From free rabies shots to specialty treats, Bark in the Park is the perfect place for pet owners.- Advertisement – Residents looking to adopt also had the chance to leave with a new family member. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office brought a few friends in search of a new home.“[Pet owners] in most cases treat [dogs] almost like they’re their children,” said Wyatt Richardson, the Town of Leland’s Operation Service Director. “It’s a great event because it’s tailored toward something folks really enjoy. Everybody loves their dog.”Richardson says Capeside Animal Hospital and Furever Friends Animal Rescue helped administer the rabies vaccinations. He says these free shots draws many dog owners to the event each year.last_img
