They have no shot to make the playoffs. Last year, we were sitting up on set and we were debating the final four teams and Notre Dame was in the conversation of teams that might not be in. And they were undefeated. Remember, no conference championship game when everybody gets to play.”Notre Dame has a couple of big-time games left, including a bout against Virginia this weekend. The Fighting Irish also play Michigan and USC, among others.Pollack doesn’t think the schedule is hard enough to warrant getting in with the loss at Georgia.“Michigan does not look good on the schedule now,” Pollack said. “Virginia’s probably their toughest task the rest of the way. No. I don’t think that Notre Dame will be in the College Football Playoff discussion. They might be a team that’s on the outside looking in with the top 10, but they’re out of the playoffs.”Saying Notre Dame has “no shot” might be a bit harsh, as there are potential scenarios where an 11-1 Notre Dame team would get consideration, but not being in a conference really hurts the chances now.
