For ticket reservations, call 334-670-2287.Vicki Pritchett, Center executive director, said hors d’ouvres will be served at the Johnson Center beginning at 6 p.m.“Christmas at the Center” is a festive event that begins at the Johnson Center where guests can enjoy the display of 10 Christmas trees decorated by school children,” Pritchett said. “The display includes the Center’s 20-foot tree which is the centerpiece of the display.”Christmas dinner will be served at The Studio and will be catered by Gabe Frankovick. Special entertainment will be by Shelia Jackson and friends and will feature songs of the seasons and carols of Christmas.Christmas at the Center” also includes a lively and competitive but friendly live auction.“This year we have some really great items on the auction block,” Pritchett said. “And, after our wonderful holiday dinner, Gabe Frankovick’s four-course dinner for 12 should be a hot item in the auction.”Other items that will be up for auction are a week at a beach condo, a fishing trip, tickets to the Montgomery Symphony, tickets to the Shakespeare Festival, an afternoon horseback ride for four, handcrafted jewelry by designer Mary Holman Johnson, an in-house consultation by Shauna West of Perfectly Imperfect, an arty party for 10, which will make a great party for kids and several more items.The Johnson Center’s Pop-Up Store will be open for shopping Friday night and Pritchett said the store has a variety of unique items for gifts or personal use.“We have artwork by local and locally connected artists, as well as a large number of highly acclaimed folk artists,” Pritchett said. “We have several pieces of handcrafted jewelry by Mary Holman Johnson and Nancy Murphree Davis. We also have some of Nancy’s note cards and artwork, as well as Cal Breed’s blown glass, Walter Black’s pottery, paintings by Jane Whaley, Phoebe Porter, Susan Berry, Joan Word, Ruth Walker, Molly Daughtry and Kelly Olznyk, who was best of Show at TroyFest 2014. That’s just to name few. We also have pieces by folk artists, Mose T., Doug Hawkins, Betty Sue Matthews and others.”The Pop-Up Store will be open at the Johnson Center throughout the holidays during regular hours from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and until 3 p.m. on Saturday.
