The assignment was to build a small house for the keeper of a farm which corresponds to an ecological reserve in the urban limit of the city of Santiago. This place, despite being private property, was to have free access to practice mountain biking.Save this picture!© Marcelo CáceresThe rural condition of the place, the weather and the idea of creating a point of access and control to the place, led the architectural typology of the house. This worked on two concepts: dark vertical roof and natural colored wood walls. These conditions, in addition to the black colored windows, allow the house to be a neutral building in the natural environment. The red access door contrasts with the rest of the house.Save this picture!© Marcelo CáceresThe location of the house was chosen to meet project requirements and to optimize the sunlight.Save this picture!Elevation EastThe roof protects from water and snow in winter and high summer insolation. This was supported by the use of eaves, to which were incorporated vents. These vents work together with the upper chimney to generate a flow of air in between the ceiling, helping to prevent overheating in the warmer months. For the colder months, we worked with thermal insulation in the drop ceiling, allowing the temperature to keep warm inside.Save this picture!Courtesy of Ema ArquitectosThe oak wood cladding of the exterior walls is 70 millimeters thick. The faces of the wooden parts were placed without brushing and were ordered regularly. This result is external walls of high thermal resistance with a regularly ordered composition and great texture.Save this picture!© Marcelo CáceresIn the inner development, the program is divided into two areas, according to privacy requirements. Oriented towards the north-east are the bedrooms and bathrooms. Oriented towards the north-west are the living room and kitchen. In front of the house, we generated a covered outdoor space, which serves as access and porch.Save this picture!Courtesy of Ema ArquitectosThe construction of the house was done mostly with metallic structures and wooden plates which allowed a quick installation. The house is supported on metallic stilts allowing it to be less invasive with the ground surface.Thermal insulation is incorporated inside the walls, in ceilings and floor slab.Save this picture!First Floor PlanProject gallerySee allShow lessMar Surf Center of Somo / Javier Romero Soto ArquitectoSelected ProjectsSchool Classroom / Loïc Picquet ArchitecteSelected Projects Share 2012 Save this picture!© Marcelo Cáceres+ 22 Share Casa Cuidador “Hijuela El Durazno” / emA ArquitectosSave this projectSaveCasa Cuidador “Hijuela El Durazno” / emA Arquitectos Area:  76 m² Area:  76 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project Chile “COPY” Casa Cuidador “Hijuela El Durazno” / emA Arquitectos Photographs Projects “COPY” ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/379711/casa-cuidador-hijuela-el-durazno-ema-arquitectos Clipboard 2012 Year:  Year:  CopyHouses•Las Condes, Chile Houses ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/379711/casa-cuidador-hijuela-el-durazno-ema-arquitectos Clipboard Architects: emA Arquitectos Area Area of this architecture project CopyAbout this officeemA ArquitectosOfficeFollowProductWood#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesHousesWoodLas CondesChilePublished on June 02, 2013Cite: “Casa Cuidador “Hijuela El Durazno” / emA Arquitectos” 02 Jun 2013. Black Stars book qualification to South Africa 2013

first_imgThe Black Stars of Ghana beat the Flames of Malawi by a solitary goal to book a place in the 2013 Cup of Nations to be hosted in South Africa.Afriyie Acquah who earned his first cap put the Stars ahead in what was only his first touch in Black Stars shirt. He pounced on a through ball from Dede Ayew and squeezed a little flick through the legs of the Flames goal keeper for the Stars opener six minutes into play.Gyan had early on forced a superb save from the Malawian goal keeper with a well taken free-kick.But the Flames were the exciting and the rugged of the two. With a bumpy pitch the Malawians dictated the pace of a the game in a desperate search for the equalizer. But the Stars defence was resolute with Vorsah and Boye standing tall. The Flames needed at least four goals to secure an upset and a qualification to South Africa 2013 having lost the first leg by 0-2 in Accra three weeks ago.But that was not to be. The Stars held on in what was a thoroughly physical game by the Flames with the referee watching on and keeping his cards in his pockets. The Flames dominated play but created next to nothing in terms of goal scoring opportunities. The closest they came was a 70th minute strike which whisked just wide. The victory, if anything will be crucial for Gyan who captained the side again and for Akwasi Appiah the only local coach to have been signed on officially by the FA with a working contract. Appiah will lead the Stars to South Africa as they chase their first Nations Cup glory in over 30 years.Incidentally Appiah was a member of the team which won the Nations Cup in 1982.Will he be successfull this time as a coach?last_img read more
